M.A.T.C.H Point Peer Mentor Program

M.A.T.C.H. POINT Youth Work Development Training Program The Summer Youth Work Development Training Program was initiated by Strides Horse Park, TEMS Inc. in 2015.

This program provides a collaborative adaptive learning environment with the objective of breaking down the barriers of Communication, Culture, & Socialization between regular & special education students. This exposure ensures that the adaptive behavioral issues that plague the developmentally delayed population are addressed. To do so, we match regular education students with special needs or disabled students and allow them to engage in planned activities throughout the summer to promote understanding, job readiness, and unity on both sides of the spectrum.

Exposing individuals with different abilities to an inclusive group, such as The Summer Youth Program, allows them to face their fears, gain experience working with the general public, while also promoting excellence in leadership and gaining work-readiness experience through community and interdisciplinary engagement.

Strides’ form alliances with school systems, corporations, and local businesses & state agencies to aid people in various communities with the pursuit of employment.
